Lois Widdoss-Malvin, 88 of Spearfish was born September 9, 1926, in Belle Fourche, SD to Melvin and Eunice (Hubbard) McIntire. She passed away January 27, 2015.
Lois grew up in Fruitdale, SD, where most of the residents were her relatives. She graduated from Belle Fourche High School. Lois married Lon Widdoss in 1944 and they raised their children on a sheep ranch located on the Red Water River between Belle Fourche and Spearfish. She worked alongside her husband and also enjoyed gardening, baking and sewing. She and Lon were married for 50 years.
Following Lon’s death in 1995, Lois married Dave Malvin on her 71st birthday in 1997. Dave and Lois did a lot traveling and RVing in their 5th wheel. Dave passed away in 2011.
Lois is survived by daughters; Ann (Denny) Erickson, Margo (Morie) Carnahan and Dee (Dean) Zarmbinski, one son, Alan (Lisa) Widdoss, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by sisters; Carol Schmidt, Janice Sylvia, Kay (Rae) Young and brother, Calvin (Ellen) McIntire and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lon and Dave, infant son, George, daughter, Alonna and son, Robert, as well as her parents.
Memorial services will be at 11am, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at All Angels Episcopal Church in Spearfish.
Memorials have been established to benefit All Angels Episcopal Church, Artemis House and the Spearfish Food Pantry.
